What is Recovery Mode?

To put your iPhone SE into recovery mode you’ll need to use the iBoot procedure. You will be able to verify that the firmware you are trying to install on your iPhone SE is signed and the version that is installed is the latest. Your iPhone SE will display a logo asking you to connect it to iTunes when it is in recovery mode. It is only way to tell if your iPhone SE is in DFU or recovery mode.

How to Put iPhone SE (2020) in Recovery Mode

Step 1: Connect the iPhone SE to your PC using a Lightning cable.

Step 2: Press and release the Volume up button. Next, press the Volume up button quickly and then release it.

Step 3: Press the Side button and continue holding it. The iPhone will restart. Don’t forget to press the Side button.

Step 4: After a few seconds, you should see a logo prompting you to connect the iPhone to your computer. Now you can release the Side button.

Step 5: If there’s iTunes on your PC, you will automatically get a prompt asking you to Restore or Update your device. The Update option allows iTunes to update your iPhone SE with the most recent iOS version without affecting your data. Selecting Restore will wipe out all your data.
