Today, Expedition 42 Commander Barry Wilmore (NASA) and Flight Engineer Terry Virts (NASA) will perform a 6.5 hour spacewalk out from the International Space Station (ISS) at 7: 10am EST 10 GMT). NASA says this spacewalk is part of a series to make cables ready for future docking points so crews departing from Florida can dock at the station. They will make other preparations to reconfigure the station before private crewed craft arrive. SpaceX and Boeing plan to launch passengers starting from 2017.. To allow commercial vehicles to dock at ISS with suitable adaptors or cables, they must be fitted. Two bundles of cables will be deployed by Mr. Wilmore, and Mr. Virts to provide power and data for a new docking device. The robotic arm will be also lubricated by them.
