According to official Russian and Turkish accounts, the unfortunate fate of the Russian-shot plane was unlikely. Two Belgian scientists from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, also known as University of Leuven, described the Russian version of the plane as’scientific nonsense. In a blog post written in Flemish by Dr Giovanni Lapenta, and Dr. Tom van Doorsslaere, Dr. Tom van Doorsslaere claimed that the Russian all weather bomber plane could have not crashed in the same way Turkey or Russia had. Turkish authorities shot down the Russian Su -24 warplane on Tuesday. It crashed near a Syrian village, just a few miles away from Syria’s border. Turkish authorities handed out the card. (Image: https://kuleuvenblogt) Turkey says it gave 10 warnings According to Turkey, it gave the Russian plane ten warnings about violating its airspace before firing. Russia claims the Turkish version of events is utter ‘rubbish. Dr. Lapenta, Dr. van Doorsslaere viewed a clip of the incident posted online and concluded that the Su -24 fighter plane had traveled faster than Turkey claimed. According to the Turkish official version, the Russian aircraft was only in Turkish airspace for 17 seconds. The astrophysicists determined that the Russian plane could have been in Turkish airspace for seven seconds if it was travelling at 609 mile per hour (980 km/h. It was “extremely unlikely” that Turkey would have sent ten warnings within five minutes. This is because the speed of the plane could travel 50 miles kilometres (in 80 second). Dr. Lapenta, Dr. van Doorsslaere stated that “How could Turkey’s airforce have predicted that Russian aircraft were soon to be entering Turkish airspace?” Russian authorities gave out the card. (Image: https://kuleuvenblogt) Russian version ‘scientific nonsense’ The two scientists added that the Russian version was not completely honest either. The official Russian version states that their plane turned 90 after it was hit by the missile. This is because they were actively trying to avoid entering Turkish airspace. According to the scientists, a change in course of 90degrees is possible only with an object significantly heavier than a jet. According to their calculations, both Russia and Turkey should take the incident with caution. According to estimates, Turkey’s violation of Turkish airspace is limited to 10s. Russia claims that jets stopped Turkey from flying is not consistent with the laws of mechanics.” Sukhoi Su -24,, which is known in NATO as ‘Fencer, is an all-weather, supersonic bomber aircraft built in the Soviet Union. This was the Soviet Union’s first aircraft with an integrated digital attack/nav system. Since 1967., it has been part the USSR’s or Russia’s air forces. Video – Russian fighter plane shot down
