Charging points for rechargeable cars are available in a number of different designs and all become part of a strong current system during installation. This means that there are requirements on who is allowed to install them and how to do it.
What to think about: Charge in a standard electrical outlet
It is recommended to use regular charging in standard wall and engine heater outlets.
Old or incorrect couplings and cables in the property can cause hot running at high loads, which in turn can cause a fire. Therefore, have an electrical installation company to check the electrical installation.
Ordinary wall and engine heater outlets are not made for electric car charging and can not handle recurring high loads for a long period oftime – therefore always limit the charge to 8-10A and hang the control box in a hook.
Extension cord should not be used as there is a risk that it will not protect properly. In addition, a control box or extension cord on the ground is easily damaged.
Do not use equipment between the socket and the charging cable
What responsibility do I have? Do I need to do an electrical inspection of my electrical system? How do I know that the electrical installation company is registered?

Rules, requirements, and conditions – what applies?
Regulations and requirements for execution are changing in use as new technologies are introduced. This change, as well as the fact that an electrical plant is technically aging, means that it sometimes needs to be renewed to be kept safe. The responsibility for keeping the power plant safe is your responsibility.
If charging of electric cars is a new type of use that older electrical systems are rarely designed for, you need to consider, among other things, the following.
• How and where will you need to charge? Think about both your needs today and your future needs.
• Is the power plant in such a condition and design that you can chard it in the way the charging means? An electrical inspection can be helpful.
• Do you want an electric protection for your charging point? Check with an electrical installation company which alternatives are available.
• Which electrical installation company should I let my new charging point install?
• CHARGING BOX – THE SAFE ALTERNATIVE
A charging box has Type-2 devices that can withstand high loads for a long time. The charge is monitored according to mode 3, where the connection is electrically locked to prevent switching on and off under load.
• OUTLETS FOR GENERAL OR INDUSTRIDON
This charging takes place according to mode 2 which does not provide the same security as the charging box. In addition, ordinary electrical outlets (Schuko) are not recommended for new installation of the charging point.
