Chinese technology supplier Huawei has launched a report that identifies the major major trends in the world in the technology field and will have a major impact on how we humans live as well as society at large and industry. The report is called GIV, which stands for “Global Industry Vision”. Below are excerpts and examples from the report.
Ten trends and examples based on GIV’s most important predictions for 2025
1. Bots at home:
Advances in materials science, perceptual AI and network technology drive the use of robotics in a variety of home and personal scenarios. GIV predicts a global penetration rate of 14 percent for home robots.
2. Supervision with AR / VR:
The convergence of 5G, VR / AR, machine learning and other new technologies will allow us to look beyond distance, surface and history. This opens up new opportunities for people, companies and cultures. GIV predicts that the proportion of companies using AR / VR will increase by 10 percent.
3. Zero Search:
As data-driven and sensor-equipped devices and devices begin to anticipate our needs, information will be generated back to us. Future searches will be button-free, personal social networks will be created easily and the industry will benefit from maintaining zero-search. GIV predicts that 90 percent of all smart device owners will use intelligent personal assistants.
4. Tailored streets:
Intelligent transport systems will connect people, vehicles and infrastructure to each other, creating less congestion, quick relief and other features that make life easier. GIV predicts that 15 percent of vehicles will have mobile “vehicle-to-everything” technology.
5. Bots in the world of work:
Smart automation is already changing many industries and will in the future be able to perform more risky, repetitive and accurate tasks – a great benefit for safety and productivity. GIV predicts that there will be 103 robots for every 10,000 employees in the industry.
6. Augmented creativity:
Cloud-based AI will reduce costs and barriers to conducting scientific experiments, innovation and art. It also opens a gold mine of creative potential that is accessible to everyone. GIV predicts that 97 percent of large companies will use AI.
7. Frictionless communication:
AI and big data analysis create seamless communication between companies and customers and reduce language barriers. Precision, understanding and trust will be behind tomorrow’s communication. GIV predicts that companies will make full use of 86 percent of the information they produce.
8. Symbiotic Economy:
Companies all over the world use digital technology and smart applications on unified access platforms – that means better collaboration, resource sharing, stronger global ecosystems and higher productivity. GIV predicts that all companies will use cloud technology everywhere and that 85 percent of all business applications will be cloud-based.
9. 5G’s rapid rollout:
5G is here and rolled out much faster than any previous wireless generation – the potential for individuals, businesses and society is huge. GIV predicts that 58 percent of the world’s population will have access to 5G.
10. Global Digital Governance:
Progress in digital technology must be balanced by shared data standards and data usage principles. GIV predicts that the annual volume of global data will reach 180 ZB (1 ZB = 1 trillion GB).
