The brightest galaxy discovered in the Universe by scientists, with over trillion Suns. The ELIRG galaxy (extremely luminous, infrared) was discovered using NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer. The Astrophysical Journal featured the discovery of the astronomers from France, South Africa, Chile, South Africa, South Africa, and the UK. Chao-Wei Tsai (lead author), is a NASA scientist who is based at JPL in Pasadena. He said that they are currently looking at an intense stage of galaxy evolution. The main growth spurt in the galaxy’s dark hole may explain the dazzling light. An artist’s conception of the most bright galaxy discovered so far. Image: NASA.gov. A massive black hole in its belly. The WISE J 224607. galaxy is luminous. The authors think 57-052635.0 has a supermassive dark hole at its center, which is responsible for sucking in huge amounts of gas. The supermassive black hole draws in the gas and dust, heats it to millions of Celsius, and emits high-energy, visible, and ultraviolet light. Dust surrounding the disk blocks light and emits infrared radiation as it heats. These supermassive black hole clusters at the center of galaxies is common. It is rare to find such a massive one in this part of the universe. Astronomers see the galaxy as it is today, even though it took 12.5 trillion years for its light to reach us. When the Universe was just one-tenth its age of 8billion years, the black hole had already been billions of times larger than our Sun. How has the black hole in ELIRG grown to be so large? Three reasons may explain why an ELIRG black hole has grown to be so large, according to the authors. They may have been large-born, which could mean that they are more likely to be able to survive. The’seeds, or embryonic black hole, may be larger than we thought. Peter Eisenhardt (project scientist at JPL for WISE), co-authored the article. He explained, “How can you get an elephant?” You can start by starting with a baby elephant, as they are already large. Black holes can feed on gas, which heats up and falls into them. Because of the light’s high pressure, the black holes can only absorb matter at a certain speed. A black hole could expand at an amazing rate if it exceeded its limit. The limit has been broken before by black holes. To grow to such a large size, this black hole would need to break repeatedly the limit. This limit could also be being surpassed by black holes. Tsai stated that slow spinning black holes could grow more quickly. It can occur if the black holes aren’t spinning fast enough. A slow-spinning black holes can eventually consume more matter than one that spins fast. Andrew Blain (co-author), who is a researcher at the University of Leicester, UK, stated that “the massive black holes within ELIRGs might be goingrging themselves on greater amounts of matter over a longer time period of. This is like winning a hot dog-eating contest that lasts hundreds of million of years.” Researchers say more research is needed to unravel the mystery of super-bright galaxies. The researchers say that they plan to determine more about the mass of central black holes. Scientists will be able to learn more about the history of these objects by knowing their true weights. WISE is capturing infrared images from the whole sky in 2010. and has discovered more unusual galaxies. WISE was able to capture rare cosmic specimens by observing the entire sky with an unprecedented level of sensitivity. These 20 new EIRGS were reported by the authors, which includes this extremely-luminous one. Because they were so distant and dust transforms the powerful visible light of their galaxies into an amazing outpouring infrared, it was not possible to find them earlier. Tsai stated that “half of the brightest galaxies in our galaxy were discovered in a WISE-related study.” The Astrophysical Journal. Published 22 May 2015. DOI: 10.1088/0004-637X/805/2/90.
