Many locals stared in disbelief at a strange black ring that appeared in Kazakhstan’s clear skies in middle of the afternoon, and wondered what it might be. After hovering for 15 minutes, the strange and dark-colored circle disappeared. Someone managed to get video and it can be heard in the background discussing whether the strange, dark circle is a portal into another reality, bizarre weather patterns, UFOs, the start of the end of time, or a sign of something more. Today.kz was suggested by local residents that the black ring could have resulted from a fire at an electric substation. After speaking with officials from Shortandy’s town administration, which is located near Astana capital, this possibility was dismissed. For 15 minutes, the large black ring hovered above the sky.
