Developers had to register for a waitlist and were limited in capacity. GPT-3 will be more flexible, qualitatively better, and greater in scope. OpenAI claims that GPT-3 transitioned from beta-to-private beta because of “safety progression”. The business created endpoints to provide “more precise” questions-answering and a content filter that aids in abuse mitigation. It also constructed “instructive” models, which presumably better follow human instructions. OpenAI stated that our policies prohibit the use of the API for any purpose other than the ones outlined in the charter. Content such as hate speech is still prohibited. OpenAI’s GPT-3 API is now available for everyone. This puts an end to the waitlist and application system in effect since last year’s launch of the language model. Even though they are still Microsoft slaves, these news points represent a positive step forward for the company. GPT-3 has become too costly for commercial and long-term research.
