People are wondering if alien signals could possibly be detected in the stratosphere.

NASA scientists have been baffled by strange sounds that were picked up in upper atmosphere. Thousands of people wonder if this is evidence of intelligent aliens communicating in deep space. NASA plans to send more balloons up the sky in order to determine their source. A NASA student balloon captured the mysterious sounds of whirling and hissing twenty-two miles kilometers high in the stratosphere. Daniel Bowman is a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill doctoral candidate who discovered the strange sounds. He described it as something from the X-Files. These strange sounds could be coming from intelligent aliens or are there more earthly explanations? Mr. Bowman recorded the sounds using infrared microphones that he built and attached to his balloon. Infrasounds are sounds that occur at lower frequencies than 20 hertz and cannot be heard by the human ear. We can only hear the recording if we speed it up. Infrasonic sounds Low frequency sounds, also known as infrasonic, are capable of traveling very far. They can be caused by natural occurrences like earthquakes, hurricanes or sea waves crashing. Scientists are unsure where the strange sounds came from in this instance. Scientists offer possible explanations. Although no evidence is available to support the origin of the unusual sounds, scientists suggest the following possible causes: – Clear air Turbulence; – Gravity Waves; – the balloon cable vibrating or flapping; – Wind Turbulence. – Ocean waves. – A wind farm located below the balloon’s flight path. It was only a couple of tiny stripes that I had expected. Bowman has been building, designing and flying high-altitude balloons ever since he was just a kid. He hopes his research will inspire others to be more involved in atmospheric infrasound. Mr. Bowman stated that there haven’t ever been any acoustic recordings made in the stratosphere since 50 years. It is certain that if instruments are placed up there, they will reveal things we didn’t see before.” NASA recently became more keen to search for extraterrestrial life in space. In April, NASA announced that it would be intensifying its search for extraterrestrial life beyond our solar system. This will involve bringing together prominent scientists from different fields.
