Python has caught a lot more attention in recent years because it was stable and easy to maintain. It was named the language of year by TIOBE Index four times since its creation. It’s no surprise that Python was named the programming language for 2020!. TIOBE. Python is a good choice. It is so great for Machine Learning. Why aren’t languages such as C++ and Java not better matches? Python comes with many libraries and frameworks that developers can use. But then, you’d have to reinvent the wheel, make a new vehicle, and finally get back to work. This would be frustrating and cause you to lose focus. Python, however, aims to prevent this from happening. It provides a variety of Unsupervised and Supervised algorithms, which can then be imported into your own code. What Makes Python so Popular with Developers for Machine Learning and AI Projects? Python’s flexibility: Python works well for Machine Learning projects. You can use OOPs, or just go with the standard scripting approach. It doesn’t matter what Python does. Machine Learning projects require a lot more recompiling than those that involve Neural Networks. However, Python support platforms like Jupyter or Google Colab allow you to recompile a portion of your code instead of the whole, saving valuable time. This feature is only possible if you have to redo the entire program because you made a mistake. The best part about Python is its ability to work with other languages. This allows developers to quickly get their desired output. Python Is Platform-Independent : Python is platform-independent, running on platforms such as Windows, Linux, and a whole host of other platforms. Pyinstaller is a package that allows developers to run their code on different platforms. Python is easy to read: You can see the frustrations and anger in reading code from another person. Python’s simple code makes it easy for others to understand and share your code. They can then use your solution in their own way. It leads to improved algorithms and research that will lead to new tools. Python is easy to learn: Python, unlike many languages, doesn’t require you to know too much syntax or follow strict rules. This allows you more freedom in your writing. Because Python is easy to learn and to master, this is why many are choosing to switch to it. If one is familiar with Java, Python will always be appreciated. Python allows you to visualise your data: Machine Learning and AI developers often need to see the data to interpret the code. This is whether it’s visuallyizing K-means clusters or Linear Regressions. Visuals can be helpful and even make your head feel at ease when you identify outliers. When you need to visualize data, Python libraries such as Matplotlib and Seaborn are great. Python is gaining popularity: The 2020 Developer Survey has ranked Python as the third most preferred language. There is a lot of Python documentation available and plenty of support. Python has an active developer community. Sites like Real Python or Geeksforgeeks offer quality tutorials for both beginners and more experienced programmers. These Are Some of the Disadvantages Of Python Python employs Duck Typing. This means that if it looks and sounds like a duck, it must be one. Let’s take a look at an example. This variable is an Int. a_Variable = 1. #this variable, which is also a String, is “Hi, I am a string”! The code above perfectly illustrates this situation. However, it can cause run-time errors and be very useful for the developer in the beginning. Here’s how Python can spoil you.
