Russian monkeys are being trained to fly to Mars

. Russian monkeys (rhesus Macaques) have been trained for preparations for the Mars mission. If all goes as planned, it will be completed by the end 2017.. This means that NASA’s Mars mission will be completed with an entire army of monkeys on the Red Planet. The Russian Institute of Biomedical Problems (Institut mediko-biologicheskikh problem), part of the Russian Academy of Science (Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk), is training the monkeys to operate computers. They are expected to be ready for crewing a Mars mission within two years. Russian scientists previously described how they planned to send a monkey on a mission to Mars. As a company, the robot will perform various tasks, such as cleaning out the spacecraft. A Russian monkey is being trained to go on the Mars mission. Image: YouTube. The Russian Information Network, (RIN), claims that the intelligent primates rhesus macaques have the highest intelligence. Are the monkeys coming back? Russian authorities are not yet certain if the monkeys, which have been trained with cursors to strike targets, will be returning to Earth or staying on Mars to die. Russian Institute of Biomedical Problems’ Dr. Inessa Kozlovskaya is the head of the Department of Sensorimotor Physiology and Maintenance. She says that the goal of this program is to “make them as smart as possible” so they can explore the outer reaches of space. Natalia Miller, who works with Dr. Kozlovskaya on her macaques training, said: “Clyopa seems to be the most intelligent.” They are given a glass of juice every time they complete a task. Scientists say that the monkeys have a long way to go. The monkeys need to be capable of solving simple mathematical problems and puzzles. Dr. Kozlovskaya states that their goal is for the macaques learn to do a variety of tasks and to remember these skills when there are no trainers on their six month voyage to Mars. Russian scientists now want to train them in order to make it possible for humans to colonize Mars.
