SpaceX Falcon 9 debris with US flag was found off Isles of Scilly (UK)

A local boatman found the SpaceX Falcon 9 detritus off the Isles of Scilly. He initially believed it to be a whale, or large marine creature, and that the birds were eating it. SpaceX Falcon 9 was launched in June 2015. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. Two minutes later, the rocket burst into flames and debris crashed into the vast ocean. A large piece of debris was found between Tresco and Byher, which is part of an archipelago at the southwest tip of Great Britain’s Cornish Peninsula. It measured 10 meters (32 foot) by (13 ft. With the assistance of a professional boatman from the area, the debris was collected and towed to New Grimsby, a settlement along the coast of Tresco. It is now under watch at Tresco. Facebook posted details about the debris finding by The Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Coastguards warn all ships to watch out after debris was discovered in the afternoon on November th. Martin Leslie (coastguard commander), explained that the markings indicate an American flag. Martin Leslie, the coastguard commander, explained that it looks suspiciously like an American rocket. The unmanned SpaceX Falcon 9 began its flight from Florida in 28th iunie, 2015.. The space rocket was destroyed 19 seconds and minutes after launch. It was in the middle of sending a Dragon vehicle and a cargo ship to the International Space Station. Tresco Boat Service’s Joseph Thomas found the debris “covered in goose barnacles” about 100 meters feet from shore. Image: Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Nobody knows 100% what caused the explosion. The explosion was believed to have been caused by a malfunctioning metal strut within the upper-stage rocket engine. A bottle of Helium was released after the strut gave way. This helium created extra pressure in the second stage engine, which caused the rocket to explode over the Atlantic Ocean. Elon Musk (CEO of SpaceX, Space Exploration Technologies Corporation), an aerospace company based in California and a space transportation services provider, claimed that the explosion occurred due to an “overpressure event” in the liquid oxygen tank at the upper stage. This suggestion has not been verified. Seventeen successful launches preceded the June explosion. The next flight of Falcon 9 is set for December 20th 2015.
