Apple’s streaming service, Apple TV+, went live as planned earlier in the week. Eight original TV series and one movie make up the launch library. Apple TV+ may not yet be as popular as Netflix, but it will over time. This guide will help you download the Apple TV+ shows offline while on-the-go.
Just like other Apple services and products, downloading movies and TV programs from Apple TV+ is easy for offline viewing. There are some limitations you should be aware.
Download Movies, TV Show from Apple TV+ for Offline Viewing: Things to Know
- You can download TV and movies for offline viewing only when you’re connected to Wi-Fi.
- It is impossible to download episodes or movies from TV via mobile data.
- Unlike Amazon Prime or Netflix, Apple TV+ does not provide you an option to select the download resolution or quality. It determines this based on which device it is being used on.
How to Download TV Shows, Movies from Apple TV+ for Offline Viewing
Step 1: Open the TV app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: From the Watch Now tab, select the TV show or movie that you’d like to download.
Step 3: You will see a Download icon beside the name of every TV show episode. To start the download, just tap it.
You do not have the option of choosing the resolution and quality for the file you download.
Step 4: Access your downloaded movie or TV show by going to the Library tab. There should be a Downloads list. To access the entire content available offline, tap on that icon.
All movies and TV programs downloaded are classified according to the season and show name. The download process can be slow depending on the content you’re downloading, and how fast your Wi-Fi is.
If your iPhone/iPad is not connected to the Internet and you launch the TV app, the downloaded tab will appear. This list contains content you can view offline. To start watching the content, tap on it.
How to Delete Downloaded Movies or TV Show in Apple TV+
You can easily delete any TV or movie you have downloaded by simply clicking left on the icon when it is in the ‘Downloaded” tab.
You can easily download any TV series or movie in Apple TV+. At the moment, there is no issue downloading. However, Apple could have given users more control over what file is downloaded. It should also have offered the option of downloading content offline using mobile data.
